YARDBARKER... I don't know where to even begin with this one... Just finished what felt like a world wind tour in DC. with my movieCrips and Bloods: Made in America. I have had a lot amazing journeys in my life but this film has been truly special.
Its been a long and rewarding journey with this film, (almost three years now) when we started I knew that I wanted to create something that would help change the lives of the youth in this country. After three years of hardwork we are finally seeing the impact that we all had hoped for from the start.
On Wednesday I had the opportunity to screen my movie to members of congress on Capitol Hill…Just writing that last sentence for me is pretty unbelievable, let alone spending a day around the offices with the people that are responsible for making change happen in our communities. I must say that this experience has really given me perspective on what it actually takes to make the changes we need in our community. I was truly humbled to be in the presence of these individuals as they help to change our kids’ path for a better future. The fact that these law makers have found my film to be a useful tool in driving support for something as important as the Youth PROMISE Act makes me know that we have truly done something worthwhile.
I would like to thank Congressmen Bobby Scott and Mike Castle for sponsoring the event and giving me a chance to help, I truly cannot thank you enough.LA City Councilman Tony Cardenas for helping to put this project in the right hands and making this happen.Congresswoman Maxine Waters thank you for your time, support and dedication. To everyone that came out to support the Youth PROMISE Act and continue to do so, I salute you and you have my support.
First off thank you all for the positive feedback. I am glad so many of you read and appreciate what I had to say... On to some "HUNT" related business...

Having recently had some time to reflect I wanted drop you all a quick note.
There’s an age old Chinese proverb which says:
“Words are just words and without heart they have no meaning.”
Today, I’d like to use this space to speak to you from my heart.
First off, I want to say how much our entire organization appreciates the way our fans stuck with us through what was a very difficult season. We can spend time referring to all the injuries, but as far as you’re all concerned, there can be no easy excuse for the tough year we had. I want you to know that we truly appreciate all of your support and thank you for hangin with us.
Secondly, I want to make sure you know that EVERYONE at the Clippers is committed to doing whatever is necessary to make sure that you don’t have to deal with another year like the one that just ended. I’m dedicating myself to that goal, and I know my teammates will do the same.
There are probably those who will read this and toss it off as just words, but I can only write these words with hope that the feeling and sentiment is conveyed.
Whether you believe us or not, please know that we’re all going to work hard to improve everyday and be a far better team than we showed this past season.
What up Yard!!! Its your boy boomdizzle back in the building. I know its been a while since I have been in here but I've been working on something special for yall. As you may have noticed, I relaunched my website BaronDavis.com aka The Boomiverse a couple weeks ago. I hope some of you out there have had a chance to visit the site and get familiar with it, if not well I have the perfect opportunity for you. As of today I am launching a scavenger hunt for you all to take a trip through "the known Boomiverse" its going to be fun, exciting and most of all REWARDING for those of you that win. I have yet to decide what the winners of the Scavenger Hunt will get, but it is safe to say that there will be some special Boom Memorabilia...
Ok, so here's how its going to go down...
For the next 5 days I will be posting 2 questions a day across my various platforms: BaronDavis.com, facebook.com/barondavis, twitter.com/Baron_Davis (@Baron_Davis), and right here on "The Crossover". The answers to all of the questions reside somewhere in the "Boomiverse" or on 1 of the 10 planets...
Keep track of your answers and on the 5th day I will let you know what to do with them...
Happy Hunting, Boom
P.S. if you are following on twitter all "Hunt" related posts will be tagged with #TheHunt
Now that was fun. You know I am glad we got that one last night for all of us fans and players alike. We've had so many games that just went the other way this season glad we could finally get one at the end and celebrate on our own court with our fans. The boy Novak was on fire last night it was only right that he hit the game winner... I bet when I took this picture of him in denver he didn't think he would be hitting the game winner saturday... LOL. Just heard Lawlers call from last night... Novak for the win.... BIIIIIIIINNNNGOOOO!!! Clippers Win!!! I might have to start a best Lawler 3pt call on ibeatyou... Classic... BTW... Why does DJ look so mean in this picture... Whats a cool nickname for Novak?
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everybody that has supported my documentary Crips and Bloods: Made In America, it really means a lot to all of us involved with the film to have your support. ?With this film we really tried to tell a story that resonated not just with the LA community but all communities facing the issue of Gang Violence, it was a tall task but I think we did a great job making the film relatable. ?Now if you are sitting there wondering where you can see the documentary, or how you can help support be sure to visit cripsandbloodsmovie.com?, we have all the info on how to support, upcoming screenings as well as an opportunity to buy the DVD. ?Ive had a lot of help on this project, both in the actual production end of it, as well as the fans who have seen it and helped spread the word, so thank you, thank you very much.?
Be back sooner than later maybe a late afternoon post... Gone...
What's going on YB... That was a tough one last night SA is a bit of a buzz saw. Today is another opportunity to get better though. I just wish we could have everybody healthy. You know some teams start the season with the goal of winning a championship, others aim to make the playoffs. Right now for us the key to the remainder of this season is just trying to get consistent. Being consistent is about getting healthy and having everybody on the court together. Hopefully we can get everybody back soon... MEM tomorrow... Back to getting better... Gone!
What up YARD!!! I know I've been a bit absent but I'm back now so be ready. I appreciate the comments both pos and neg... its all feedback... tough test tonight against PP and Beantown... shout out to the Sandman see you at the game... off to shoot around! Oh yeah do yourself a favor if you didn't already make sure you watch the Pres. address to congress. BD OUT!!!
Like I said yesterday, the Lakers are the Western Champs and they proved it. We got smacked in the mouth; period, point blank. It got to the point where I was admiring the way their team looked top to bottom.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and there was a lot to learn from that game. We are still a work in progress. But, that's the kind of defense we have to play to be successful. That's the play we have to aspire to.
Off to practice
Yo what up out there in the Yard?
For me, right now, all I can think of is tomorrow. Wednesday is our Opening Night, the first game of the season. My first game for the Clippers. I'm sitting and watching the Lakers on TNT tonight, cheering like a fan, remembering that tomorrow it's gonna be us against them. I know I'm excited when I can't sleep for two days before the game. I've been practicing, trying to get used to being on the court even though I'm not at 100%. But being back with my teammates reminds me how much I miss the game and how much I want to play. The love is still there. The hunger still burns. Those are the things that remind me.
Watching all the nba previews and reading all the articles about the season has got me turned up too. It's really important to me that I get out and show everyone what I'm capable of because it seems like there are so many people that want to write us off already. Obligatory Haters. All the more people to prove wrong. (Oh, and Bill Simmons: I'm not coming on the podcast until you get your act together and be a real fan. LOL)
Our first game is against the Lakers. I say Bring It On. It's exactly how you want to start off, by playing against the best in the West, sizing ourselves up against the Western Champs. Kobe is still my favorite too. Sitting here, watching him on TNT, and I'm still rewinding his dunks on my Tivo just like the rest of you. LA is his town. But it's my home too and LA's big enough for us both. Clipper Nation: I know you have been patient a long time but I'm here to assure you that you are gonna be proud to be a part of this season.
I'm shooting baskets at the park outside my house tonight before I go to sleep. Tomorrow, I'll be at Staples Center early to make sure my family and friends are all settled. Theres a lot of pressure on me now that I'm back at home - that's what everyone's saying. So I guess that means the pressure starts tomorrow. Gotta make sure to load up my ipod with the right music to warm up to. It's Makavelli, All Eyez on Me... you know the drill. Strictly LA hip hop for the Lakers vs the Clippers.. or should I say, Clip Hop LOL.
Remember when you were a kid on Christmas Eve? Tonight's kinda like that cause the sooner I go to bed, the sooner I can wake up and it'll be game day?
Shout out to everybody in the yard. I'm thinking about you Donovan. And Bosh.. I'm comin for you at ibeatyou.com!
PEACE
Boom
What's up YB... I KNOW it's been a minute but your boy Boom is back in the yard with updates!!!
First off... I'm so excited to be back in LA. The Clippers have a brand new training facility here and now it's my second home... actually my first home. Been working hard in training camp and everyone's slowly coming together. Feeling good about this team - a great group of guys.
Chris Kaman is funny as hell!!! How does this guy not have his own reality show...? Seriously, I'm gonna follow him around with my camera after practice and call it "Life On Mars." I want royalties if they go with that name tho... LOL. Good to be back with my boy Ricky D, who I started the NBA with back in Charlotte. And I'm back with JHart who I grew up playing against in LA. We were the two top pgs in high school and now we're on the LA Clippers together (Watcha know about those Cali PGs!!!). The team has sooo much personality it's scary. Last night was just our first preseason game, and I am already looking forward to opening night.
We call our fans the Clipper Nation out here, and I'm tryin to find the best of the best. If you think you're the biggest Clipper Fan OUT THERE, then record a video proving why you are the biggest Clipper Fan and come compete!!! I'm gonna pick the winner from all the entries and hook em up with two tickets to see us play at Staples Center this season. Who's it gonna be?

Ok, so a few weeks ago, I'm shooting a commercial with Chris Bosh and some other NBA guys for ESPN. Bosh and I start talking about who is funnier, him or me. Of course he got pub from that All-Star video he filmed last season when he was the car salesman. He called me out cause I'm from LA and I'm supposed to "know Hollywood," whatever that means. So we decided to settle it online with a friendly competition: who can create the funniest web video - me or Bosh. I'll let y'all know when that's coming out. We're letting the viewers decide who wins so I'm definitely gonna holler at you for votes...
