Tebow's got the Broncos thinking playoffs after starting the season 1-4
I'm sure everyone's sick of hearing about Tebow, but I don't care. What Tim Tebow has done in Denver is nothing short of spectacular. Tebow began the season as the third string quarterback behind Kyle Orton (Now with Kansas City) and Brady Quinn. After the abysmal start with Kyle Orton starting, and some pressure from the fans, Coach Fox and Elway put Tebow in so that everyone could see what they saw: An unpolished quarterback who couldn't play in the NFL.
Were they wrong.
Tim Tebow came in after half-time against the San Diego Chargers and nearly led them to a Victory. Since then Tebow has been on a roll going 6-1 as the starter. For a quarterback labelled as a run only guy, as we saw in the most recent victory against the Minnesota Vikings, he can throw as well. He completed 10 of 15 and showed pocket presence we hadn't yet seen from him. He has slowly gotten better at passing while still committing to run the ball if necessary.
Here's another fun little Tebow tidbit: In his 7 games as the starter he has thrown 1 Interception to 9 TDs. He is playing smart and is showing a decision making process of a quarterback years ahead of him. He had another TD pass in his game against the Chargers bring his total TD to INT ratio for the year 10:1. If Cam Newton had that type of ratio he would be treated as one of the best quarterbacks in the game, but not Tebow.
Tebow is still being scrutinized by sports writers all over the globe, but love him or hate him, you've got to respect him. While he's not the entire reason Denver has turned it's season around (The defense has been playing legendary lately), he is the MAIN reason. Tim Tebow has this team believing again and sometimes that's all you need. His personality and leadership was something this Denver team needed because they are lacking in talent on offence (No offense to Eric Decker but I see him more as a number 2-3 guy anywhere else).
So with Playoffs coming, and Denver now in the lead in the AFC West, the sky's the limit for Tebow's Broncos and who knows what will happen for them. With the leadership and new found heart this team now has, you better believe they will play their hearts out for this guy, and I imagine that if they do make playoffs, Elway and Fox will be watching closely. After all, all Tebow does is win and isn't that all you need to do in the playoffs?
(Sorry for all the Tebowness but I'm a Gators fan, it's in my blood)
