Hello to all, and as always I hope this reaches everyone well. All I can say is that this was a great weekend!! We (the Rock) won in Orlando to advance to the Champions Cup, the Habs are in another game seven tomorrow night and Pearl Jam still rocks!
Going down 5-4 at the half, we exploded in the third taking home a pretty commanding 15-10 win. Quite frankly, the ball was just going in for us. The two other times we played Orlando this year we threw over 60 shots at the goaltender (Vinc) and both times he held us under ten. The difference in this game was Whippers great goaltending and our ability to finally find the back of the net against Vinc! It is quite a thrill to be going back to the Champions Cup, but I forgot how tough the week leading to the game can be. It is only Tuesday and I already am shaking with nerves and excitement. Oh well, it feels really good to have shot at winning! The boys were excited and we enjoyed ourselves after the game, but once the Sunday sun arose, it was time to start thinking about our next opponent....the Washington Stealth! That's right, my old team. The team I was traded from just prior to the start of this season. This makes for a very good storyline and should make for an interesting game! I know and respect the team on the other side as I think they do me, it should be a great battle for the NLL title. If you can make it to the Seattle area, get to this game. If not, be sure to catch it live on TSN2 in Canada and live on Verses in the States on tape delay on Sunday.
The Habs keep making a believer out of me as well. Down what seems to be there whole defensive core, they come up huge again at home forcing yet another game seven. This team has resiliency and toughness beyond anything I can describe. This run has made me a believer in the team and I for one will not count them out tomorrow night at the IGLOO. Do they have yet another huge upset in them....I guess we'll see. GO HABS GO!!
Lastly, I was able to attend the Pearl Jam concert in Buffalo last night. What a show! Eddy knows how to perform and they kicked *ss. They played a very long, two hour set filled with old and new. The best part of the night had to be either Better Man or Just Breathe! Two great tracks that had the entire crowd into them. I was hoping to hear Wishlist and Courdory, but they would have had to be there all night if they were going to send everyone home happy hearing all of their hits! It was my first time seeing them live and they are right up there with Green Day as far as I am concerned. A great show, if you get the chance get out and see them go at it!
Well, I guess next time we chat we'll either be hearth broken or still celebrating so here's to the latter. Enjoy your week, and we'll check back in next Tuesday.
