Thank you!
I hope that everyone has an opportunity in their lifetime to experience what I did Sunday because words can hardly describe it.
It’s no secret I went home again....and was greeted with an ovation that was overwhelming. Philadelphia - you gave me chills during that pregame introduction. I know many people didn’t know what to expect but I knew there were many fans I met over my 11 seasons who expressed nothing but positive feelings towards me. Previously, they may have been considered the silent majority but Sunday they made their feeling heard - loudly. I sincerely appreciate that support.
I must also thank my Redskins’ teammates. While I tried to make this seem like a normal week against an NFC East opponent, I must admit, it was anything but normal. We stepped it up on offense, defense and special teams, and pulled out a victory even though I didn’t play my best game.
I am very proud of all my friends, both old and new!
-
Thank you and your awesome............I miss you!
-
It was a pleasure covering this game. I can only hope that I get to cover many more games with guys like you on the field.
-
You're welcome. Don't pay attention to the Angelo Cataldi's of the world. Any reasonable Eagles fan knows how much you gave to this organization. You gave us great memories Don.
-
This is one time I can agree with you Willardj. Donovan gave everything to Philly for eleven years. So many wonderful memories. We'll never forget you Donnie.
-
Thank you for 11 great years Dmac
-
Donovan you do not have to thank us. We should be thanking you for all the great games you have gave us.I know you did all you could to try to bring a superbowl to this city. You left everything on the field and we are thankfulfor that. You deserved every bit of that standing ovation. Trust me, the fans in the stands werent the only ones who were cheering. Many of us who were in front of TV screens were as well. Thanks for some great memories and a great era of eagles football...No matter what some people may say, Philly misses you.
-
Thank you Donovan! A lot of us always loved and respected you for your stats, consistency, and class. You are missed. Thank you again for 11 great years. We'll always have 4th and 26. Washington doesn't know how lucky they are to have a man of your character steering the ship!
-
Donovan, not sure if you will see this, but, my fiance and I were given tickets to the game Sunday at her bridal shower on Saturday from friends of ours that had season tickets. Very happy that I/we had the opportunity to be at the game and express our appreciation for all you have done for the Eagles.
I'm also glad that, despite the efforts from the national media (ESPN), you were able to get a sense of what the true Philadelphia Eagles fans thought of your time spent here.
Not sure if its apropriate to personally sign here or not but,
Regards,
Kevin Crowly -
Returning to Philly...after 11 years with the Eagles I know you had to be very emotional man, I'm surprised you even finished the game because unlike Favre's return this was not the same situation at all. You take care
-
Thank you Donovan! I'm one of many who have always loved and respected you for your stats, consistency, and class. It was a great 11 years. We'll always have 4th and 26. Washington doesn't know how lucky they are to have a man of your character steering the ship.
PS: I almost forgot thank you for beating the Cowboys. I really appreciate it. You're the best! -
lol, i hear ya. he is still and eagle and will always be one. which means the eagles have 4 chances to beat dallass this year. 1 down 3 to go.
-
lol at mcnabb beating the cowboys.....alex barron mixed with the redskins D beat the cowboys.....mcnabb did nothing that game
-
Actually the TEAM beat the Cowboys...McNabb contributed to that by making plays when he needed to and avoiding pressure even on a bad ankle and new offense. Great stats don't always equal wins...so overall the team won that game and the Cowboys did Nothing the entire game to be worthy of a win. That said...your post is unnecessary
-
that said, responding to an unnecassary comment is well, unnecassary.
-
I wish I was at the game so I could have been a part of the standing ovation, but believe me I was giving you one while I was at home watching the game. Although, I wish the outcome of the game would have been different. Thanks for the great memories and beating dallass, hope you can do that again for us. See you November 15th. I will be at that game :)
-
Remember there is no place like home...
-
Thank you Donovan, for all you have done for the Eagles. It is difficult watching you playing on a different team. Stay safe!
-
Donovan..you are definitely a class act. I just want to thank you for the 11 years. Its because of you that the team was always a contender. I miss you and this team will never be the same without you. I wish you the best in all that you do. Again, thanks for so many years of good football.
-
Donovan,
what you did is show us that it was not you.
hugs to your mom -
It was great to hear all the cheers. Philly did right by you. I was so glad for your victory. You were right when you said "Everyone makes a mistake and they made one last year"!! Keep is going and you will get to the big one and this time there won't be any clock managment issues......just a Redskin Victory!!!
-
Thank you for being an honorable man on and off the field. I enjoyed cheering for you with the Eagles and I will continue to enjoy cheering for you with the Redskins. Now, I must upgrade from my replica jersey to the real deal mccoy since you are truly that. May God continue to Bless you and your family!
-
Donnie, I understand that you can be your own critic. However, there are so many people that you inspire through the way that you play the game. You will always be the best to me. I read something last night that I want to share with you.-"And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deut. 31:8 : )
-
Thank you Donovan for posting again on Yardbarker, I've been waiting! I'm so proud of your efforts out there on that field, you always give your best. You are shining, and I know your ship is coming in, just past the horizon! Much love, you are my number one, always!
-
Donnie! When you left Philly you left a hole in this city and in my heart. You will always be my idol. I wish you all the luck in the world and I will cheer you and the Redskins on every week. God bless you Donnie.God bless you.
-
You are such a class act! A gentleman off the field and warrior on. A skins fan will always support its team. But I can truly say it is a pleasure watching the skins this season. Continue to bring your energy, talent, and experience to the field on game day. DC and the Redskins are lucky to have you.
-
Hardcore Redskins fan for 36 years, McNabb fan for 11 years and counting (except when you played the Redskins :)
Keep doing what you've been doing and hopefully you'll finally get that ring. -
I have become a huge fan of yours Mr. McNabb. Three reasons, you're are an amazing player, your wife and my daughter share the same name and her nickname is my own personal name. Even my pet yorkie is a fan of yours (no matter what team you're playing with :). If you're ever granting fan wishes, please give me and my daughter a call. We'd love to have lunch!
