OL Doug Brenner (NR/Portland, OR) speaks with Chip Kelly.
Sunday, Oregon landed its third offensive line recruit in hybrid-athlete Doug Brenner (NR/Portland, OR). Brenner joins the likes of Alex Redmond (4-Star/Los Alamitos, CA) and Evan Voeller (4-Star/West Linn, OR/Rivals250) in what could be one of the most athletic lines ever assembled in college football.
“I called Coach Greatwood and told him I was committing, and he handed the phone to coach Chip Kelly and they both said they were really excited,” said Brenner.“ (Coach) Greatwood wants me to play center for Oregon at the next level. I am ready to do whatever they need me to do.”
The Duck’s Saturday victory over a “hapless mid-major” in Fresno State saw Brenner join commits Darren Carrington (4-Star/San Diego, CA/Rivals250) and Chris Seisay (3-Star/American Canyon, CA) in Oregon’s VIP seating section.
“You know, it was great…the atmosphere and everything,” said Seisay. “The coaches, Coach Chip (Kelly), they let me and Darren (Carrington) go into the locker room with them before pre-game, and I got to experience that, and coming out with the team. It was just so loud. It was one of the best ‘crowd games’ I’ve ever been to.”Notes
Select visitors previously slated to attend last Saturday’s game have re-arranged their visits. Dual-sport brothers Tyree and Tyrell Robinson (4-Star(s)/San Diego, CA/Rivals250) will be in Eugene on the 22nd for Oregon’s matchup with the “rich-rodcats.” This scheduling move is said to allow incoming freshman point guard Dominic Artis (4-Star/Las Vegas, NV/Rivals150) to host the twin-tandem, along with power forward Aaron Gordon (5-Star/San Jose, CA/Rivals150). Artis may be Oregon’s trump card in landing both the Robinson twins and Gordon, as all four prep superstars have shared the hardwood together for the vaunted AAU squad, the Oakland Soldiers. Stay tuned!
Joining the Robinson’s inside Autzen will be offensive lineman Thomas Oser (3-Star/North Hollywood, CA). Oser recently narrowed his potential destination list to three, with Oregon very much in the hunt to land the versatile behemoth. “My first official visit will be to Oregon on September 22,” said Oser. “I’ve been up there before, but it was a quick day trip so I didn’t get to see everything. I’m amazed at how well they played for their first game. They played 15 different offensive lineman, which really stood out to me.”
