The injury bug has not been kind to the Cincinnati Reds. Ryan Ludwick, coming off a 26-homer campaign, injured his shoulder on Opening Day and is expected to miss the entire first half. Premier set-up man Sean Marshall has been dealing with arm fatigue throughout spring and was recently shut down. Johnny Cueto becomes the latest victim of the injury epidemic in the Queen City, as the Cincinnati ace was placed on the DL on Sunday with a lat strain.FANTASY NEWS Check out the latest

Cueto finished fourth in Cy Young voting in 2012 thanks to 19 wins, a 2.78 ERA and 1.17 WHIP and was off to a good start in 2013, owning a 2.60 ERA and 1.04 WHIP at the time of injury. Prospect Tony Cingrani will take Cueto’s place in the rotation. Congrani is worth a look in deeper leagues and NL-only formats, as the 23-year-old has 26 punch-outs in 14 1/3 shutout innings in Triple-A this season.
