The NHL didn't play a game for nearly three weeks, but the Pittsburgh Penguins didn't get healthy.
In fact, their injury scenario looks worse that before the Olympic started. Here is the rundown:
- Key defenseman Paul Martin suffered a broken right hand playing in the Olympics. He could miss up to six weeks.
- Star defenseman Kris Letang is receiving medication after suffering a stroke. He may not return to active duty this season.
- Top line winger Pascal Dupuis won’t make it back from his knee injury this season. In fact, he could miss up to eight months after finally undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL.
- Winger Beau Bennett suffered a setback during his recovery from wrist surgery. He could miss another month.
On the plus side. Chris Conner could return in a week and both Joey Vitale and Tyler Pyatt could return this week.
