So I'm watching a couple of NBA games as I'm writing this and I've noticed they're not exactly playing in front of packed houses. San Antonio Spurs at Detroit Pistons might as well've been a dark game because it was played in front of tens of fans not thousands. I counted maybe a few thousand fans and I think that's generous. It was a good game too I mean at least Detroit tried to win. 

 

The Knicks did win their sixth game in a row and on the road no less, well they were playing the Raptors but it was actually a close game. If the Knicks make the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised, now if they actually win a game in the playoffs that would surprise me. Another thing that surprises me is an NFL player who gets paid millions to play a game is tweeting that the NFL Commissioner is being over paid. Dude is entitled to his opinion but when you express yourself on social media, you're also entitled to the backlash.

 

Backlash is what a former high school coach is facing after making a terrible judgement call. The Oxford Hills School District's football coach resigned after the backlash created when he posted a nude photo on 'Facebook'. Paul Withee was the football coach since March and beginning this school year, he was also teaching math and science at the middle school.

 

Superintendent Rick Colpitts said Withee meant to send the picture privately to his girlfriend but accidentally posted it publicly on 'Facebook' last Tuesday.

 

The photo was online for 10 minutes before Withee took it down, Colpitts said. According to Colpitts, it is not against school policy for teachers to be friends with students on 'Facebook'. The incident was reported by the parent of a student who had seen the picture. The school district had begun its own investigation, but Withee's resignation means that the investigation is no longer necessary.

 

First of all, what is he doing taking nude photos of himself? Why people send nude photos is a mystery to me especially after the Brett Farve debacle. More often than not sending nude photos is going to end badly. Look at this guy, it cost him his career because no other school is going to hire him.

 

Dude made a terrible mistake and the thing that athletes, actors, and everyday people in general need to know is that social media and the internet in particular is written in ink, there is no delete button because by the time you delete it someone else has grabbed it and they send it to their friends and then it's just gone, out of your control.

 

We've all sent a stupid joke or a message meant just for our girlfriends and you hit 'send to all' instead of 'reply' and then you're like noooooo! Then your boss gets it along with half of the office. Bottomline, stop taking pictures of your junk and posting it. I heard someone say before that 'Twitter' and 'Facebook' are like loaded guns because you can't unfire that bullet you send. You can't unring that bell once you hit publish and I'm amazed at how many people get caught up and end up apologizing for their words or actions.

 

The Paris Police Chief David Verrier said the department talked with the district attorney's office and decided not to press charges because this was an accident. So there's some good news I guess but like I said, dude's career is over because schools and parents are on edge and rightfully so. I just wrote yesterday about planet Sandusky errrrr I mean that case at that university that no one wants talk about. I'm not saying teachers shouldn't have 'Facebook' accounts but I am saying you might want to change the settings to private.
