Bills' tight end to miss the rest of the season
Buffalo Bills second-year TE Shawn Nelson (migraines) has been placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list and will miss the rest of the season, a source confirmed.
Nelson, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by Buffalo, was suspended earlier this season for four games without pay for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Nelson was drafted with the belief that he would become Buffalo’s receiving threat at the tight end position, but he only has 20 receptions, 181 yards and one touchdown so far in his short career.
As first reported by FOXSports.com, the Bills are expected to sign OT Colin Brown off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad to fill Nelson’s spot on the 53-man roster.
