The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed TE Nathan Overbay from the practice squad. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the team waived C Donovan Raiola.
Overbay joined the Buccaneers practice squad on Oct. 26, after being released from the Miami Dolphins practice squad on Sept. 14. Overbay originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos on Apr. 26. He played collegiately at Eastern Washington University, appearing in 43 games and setting a school record for tight ends with 19 career touchdown receptions.
Raiola had re-joined the Buccaneers on Dec. 7 and played in one game with the team. He also spent time with the team during the 2010 offseason. Raiola originally entered the league with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent.
