The Wizard of Oz. Kramer vs. Kramer. E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. For years these three movies were tied for my all-time favorite film. But recently a new flick has entered the top three and booted out the Dustin Hoffman divorce drama, Kramer vs. Kramer. The Blind Side. The inspiring story of the Tuohy family of Memphis, Tennessee and their life-changing decision to adopt Michael Oher into their lives moves me every time I view it. Sandra Bullock’s Oscar-winning performance as the matriarch, Leigh Anne Tuohy, is top notch. It is because of this riveting film that I am rooting for the Baltimore Ravens in this year’s Super Bowl. Oher was a first-round draft pick for the Ravens in 2009. He has started for them on their offensive line ever since. Because of the film I have followed his football career closely. I will be excited for him when he and his team win a championship. I know basing your Super Bowl decisions on a film may be Weird Science. Still I am hopeful the Ravens can win and prove that using motion pictures to make pigskin prognostications does not make me a Liar Liar but instead is The Cutting Edge, The Sure Thing and a sign of A Beautiful Mind.
