Latest NHL Free Agent Signings - May 21, 2011.
The Phoenix Coyotes announced the signing of forward Petteri Nokelainen to a one-year, one-way, $550K contract.
Nokelainen, 25, played 67 games in 2009-10 split between the Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks. He was bought out of the final year of his contract and played last season with Jokerit in Finland.
He previously played for the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders.
The Ottawa Senators have re-signed forward Zack Smith to a two-year, one-way contract extension worth $1.4 million.
Smith, 23, was eligible for restricted free agent status on July 1st. His new contract pays him $625K for 2011-12 and $775K for 2012-13, but will count as $700K per season against the Senators salary cap.
In 55 games with the Senators last season, Smith had 9 points and 120 PIMs.
