Life's been pretty hectic (but fun)
Hey Yardbarkers! It's been a long time since I've blogged, but life's been pretty hectic (fun), and I've been on the road a lot. Here's a rundown of some of the fun?First there were the NAACP Image Awards. I had a great time attending events and seeing the people who've played on some of my favorite TV shows and movies. (Shout out to Rosario Dawson. When 1080 takes off, I'll make sure she's in one of our movies for sure.)
Then, it was back to my hometown for All Star Weekend. I was excited to get back to Phoenix, but it definitely gets hard to go to all the events and stuff when your family and your crew can't enjoy it all with you. I definitely had a great time, though. I did an interview with Xtra 910 Sports Radio at the Dillards at the Fashion Square Mall. Those guys showed me much love, and as I walked around the mall I felt even more love from the people who were shopping.
That night I went to the Playboy Magazine release party that Live Music threw at Barcelona. I had a great time partying with fellow NFL players Vernon Davis, Karlos Dansby, Shawne Merriman, Chris Johnson, Brandon Marshall and many others. I especially enjoyed the area I was in because it was right near the DJ booth, and DJ Irie was spinning all the hip-hop songs I wanted to hear for the night.
That Saturday I did an interview with a magazine that's featuring me in their March Issue. I don't want to leak the name until it comes out, but they followed me all weekend, so you will get to see what I'm like off the field (very few people see that side of me, so stay tuned). On my way to one of the weekend's many gifting suites I noticed a lot of the NBA players were in the lounge of the hotel. Of course I stopped by and talked to some of guys. Shaq walked by and we joked about how big I am. I told him I played basketball in high school, and that it's one of my passions. Everybody cracked up when I was like "but you're too big for me to guard, though." When I finally made it to the gifting suite, the House of Hennessy was providing pampering services for all the male celebs, and boy did I need it after the long season I had. After that, I had a little extra fun by test driving the new Maserati for the Automotive Rhythms show. Man I really enjoyed that car. I don't know which car I will buy next, but that one's in the running. I was also looking at the Lambo, but I don't know if I'll fit in it comfortably and if I'll enjoy it for a long period of time. Hey Yardbarkers, tell me which cars you think I should be checking out.
I eventually made my way home to take a nap and enjoy the All-Star competitions on TV with my family. I was shocked Nate Robinson won, but if you're not even 6 feet tall and you dunk over a seven footer, I guess they got to give it to you. After it was over I went to 944 Event at the W with some of my family and closest friends. Common rocked it. Even though it was a chilly night, and the event was outside, he still had the crowd moving. I have a newfound respect for that dude. On Sunday I went to the MTV event at Axxis Radius and saw some great performances, but other than that I got to just relax and hang with my family. A lot has happened between then and now, but I've already written enough for one session. I'll give you the rest really soon, though. In the meantime, I'm back to working out and getting ready for the season. Oh, and I've been looking over some scripts to decide what film I'll produce first. No matter which one I pick, be prepared for quality entertainment. I take great pride in not rushing so stay tuned. Man, I almost forgot to tell you I got to meet and hang out with some cast members (Hosea Chanchez, Tia Mowry and Brittany Daniel) from my favorite show, THE GAME. Mara Brock AKil, I love the show but you got to get T-sizzle on it. Yardbarkers, I'm asking for your help in keeping the petition going to keep the show around. It's too good to be taken off the air.
