Star linebacker for the Stanford Cardinal, Shayne Skov, was arrested by Stanford campus police and charged with DUI.
A spokesman for the Stanford University Department of Public Safety said that Skov was arrested early Sunday morning after his vehicle was noticed swerving several times. Police pulled him over in his dorm's parking lot. The case is being turned over to the Palo Alto District Attorney's Office.
Stanford coach David Shaw said of Skov's arrest, "We have an expected standard of excellence and conduct for our players and Shayne failed to adhere to those standards. It's a matter we are taking very seriously. Shayne will be responsible to adhere to any legal responsibilities regarding this event along with ramifications which will be determined by the program."
Skov injured his knee during Stanford's win over Arizona back in September. Skov will return for his senior season next season.
