Los Angeles Kings defenseman has been the subject of a Los Angeles County prosecutors investigation into a sexual assault, a district attorney's spokeswoman said Tuesday.
"It's under review," spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said, "I expect a resolution this week." Gibbons did not get into specifics about the ongoing investigation. Earlier in the year, a woman claimed that the Kings defenseman sexually assaulted her
Doughty's attorney, Craig Renetzky, believes the case will also be thrown out despite it being under review.
Doughty, the Kings'highest paid player, scored two goals in the Stanley Cup Final against the New Jersey Devils and helped the Kings win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
