In Kazakhstan, Soccer is Played on Water

I'm almost sure there is a Borat joke in this story somewhere, but during a match between Kazakh teams Ekibastuz and Almaty, it appears as if a water main broke on the pitch.

Rather than delay the game until its fixed, the officials decide to continue the match. As you can see in the video above, a player tries to throw the ball in from the corner because, you know, you can't really hit a ball that is half submerged in water. They retry and finally get the ball in only to have it kicked back from whence it came.

See, I kind of got a Borat joke in there. Kind of.

Parachutist Lands on Field During Rugby Match

The organizers of the Las Vegas Rugby Sevens had planned a grand entrance for the game ball for the first place match between New Zealand and South Africa. The had planned on having a parachutist fly into the Sam Boyd Stadium with the game ball. Wouldn't expect anything grander for a rugby match in Las Vegas.

One problem though. He landed on the field during the third place match.

The third place match between Fiji and Samoa went into overtime, thus delaying the start of the first place match between New Zealand and South Africa. I guess no one bothered to inform the parachutist as we clumsily comes in during the WRONG match.

The game ball made it safe and sound, albeit a bit early, and South Africa reigned supreme at the Las Vegas Rugby Sevens defeating the All Blacks, 40-21.

Iowa Player Throws Shoe, Nearly Hits Coach in the Face

Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery had to watch out for more than Northwestern's gameplan on Sunday. He had to watch out for a shoe.

That's right. A shoe.

Northwestern's Alex Marcotullio's shoe came off midway through the second half of the Iowa-Northwestern game yesterday, that's where Iowa's Aaron White comes into the picture. White, with a heads up move, tossed the shoe off the court and out of harms way.

On the court at least.

White haphazardly threw the shoe towards the Iowa bench where it nearly struck his coach right in the face and instead hit a spectator in the first row. Silver lining for White is that the fan was probably a Northwestern fan anyways.

So, if you are an Iowa bench player, or coach, be sure to look out for Aaron White and his shoe throwing techniques.

Tyler Seguin Lived Like a Frat Boy in Switzerland

Boston Bruins star Tyler Seguin is young, rich, and a Stanley Cup champion. He's very successful and talented on the ice, but when it comes to cleaning your house, he's pretty awful at it.

Swiss tabloid, Blick, reported that Tyler Seguin pretty much lived in a dirty frat house during his time in Switzerland. The tabloid reported that Seguin tried to wash his clothes in the dryer, didn't know how to use the dishwasher so he bought plastic tableware, and the floor was littered with Coca-Cola bottles.

The floor was also littered with coins worth about 220 francs. Rotten bananas were left on the table. The cleaning company had to spend an entire day to clean up the bathroom.

Marc Lüpold, managing director of the cleaning company hired to clean Seguin's apartment, told Blick, "You could tell it was the first time a young, single man had an apartment."

No kidding.

C'mon! Washing clothes in the clothes dryer?! Even I know how to use a washing machine. Also, you didn't he just wash his plates and silverware by hand, like normal people.
