• Dan Marino Fathered a Child with CBS Employee in 2005

  Current NFL on CBS studio analyst and Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino fathered a child out of wedlock with a former CBS employee back in 2005.

  Marino had an affair with former CBS Sports production assistant Donna Savarette, and the two had a daughter, Chloe, as a result of their tryst.

  "This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then," Marino said in a statement. "We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."

  Marino, who had long had a reputation as one of the game's squeaky clean players, has been married for 28 years and has six children, four biological and two adopted. 

  "My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together," Marino said. "And we continue to be a strong and loving family."

  Marino agreed to pay millions to Savarette and she moved from New York to Texas to keep to matter private, but she soon returned back to New York City. After getting the millions from Marino, she started to spend her time between the Hamptons and the Upper West Side ans became a fixture on the local social scene.

  Marino is now in touch with his now seven year old daughter and they would have impromptu meetings.

  Marino will still be a part of CBS' Super Bowl coverage this Sunday, he has been a part of CBS' NFL coverage since 2003.

• Jets' Revis Leaves Game with Knee Injury

  The New York Jets may be in panic mode right about now.

  Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis left late in the third quarter in the team's overtine victory against the Miami Dolphins with an apparent kneeinjury.

  Revis was injured after planting his leg while chasing down Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas. Revis looked like he was in a tremendous amount of pain, but was able to walk off the field under his own power.

  Revis was carted to the locker room after being tended to by Jets trainers on the sideline.

  The Jets will know more about the severity of Revis' knee injury of Monday when an MRI is scheduled, according to the AP.

• Report: Dolphins to Release David Garrard

  According to a report by FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the Miami Dolphins are set to release David Garrard.

  Garrard was in the running to become the Dolphins starting quarterback until Texas A&M rookie Ryan Tannehill was named the week one starter by head coach Joe Philbin.

  Garrard has not played since early August when he needed surgery on his knee to remove loose bodies. Garrard never played in a single game for the Miami Dolphins.

  "They didn’t want me to, and I didn’t feel like I was quite ready to move with guys flying around me,” Garrard told the Miami Herald. “But I feel good. I know I’m not quite exactly where I want to be, but it felt good just being back out there, realizing I can still drop and do all of those things."

  Garrard thanked the Dolphins and their fans on his Twitter account, @davidgarrard9, "To all the dolphins fans thx for ur support! Best of luck to all my teammates.Thx for making me feel at home!! Phins up!!"

  This is the second season in a row that Garrard has been cut the week before the start of the NFL season. Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars cut Garrard in favor of quarterback Luke McCown.

• Marcellus Wiley Remembers The Life Of Junior Seau

  The NFL and sports world are still in shock after the tragic death of former All-Pro linebacker Junior Seau. Yesterday, I shared with you the very emotional and heart wrenching statement made by Seau's mother, Luisa.

  Today, another emotional reflection on Seau's life was made by former teammate of Seau and current ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley. Wiley appeared on ESPN's NFL Live to talk about his friend and teammate.

  Wiley was clearly distraught and emotional right from the start saying that in his denial he texted Seau to make sure the rumors were false. More important than anything else was that Wiley spoke highly of him as a person more than as a player.

• Junior Seau's Mother's Heart Wrenching Statement

  After Junior Seau's tragic and shocking death on Wednesday, his mother, Luisa, made a statement to the press that would leave a harden man shaken.

  Luisa Seau somehow mustered up the strength to say a few words while pleading for God to, "take me, take me, leave my son, but its too late."

  Seau was discovered at his home by his girlfriend in what police are calling a self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

• Patriots' Welker Likely To Hold Out

  The New England Patriots are likely to place the franchise tag on wide receiver Wes Welker and that the receiver would likely hold out.

  Greg Bedard of the Boston Herald appeared on a radio show and said of the Welker contract situation, “He’s going to be tagged, that I know for pretty much certain. If they don’t, he’s going to sign with the Jets and they’re going to to to try and cover him twice a year, or the Dolphins, they want him back. I don’t see why things would change now, but the way it stood before the Super Bowl, they’re going to tag him.”

  The Patriots are worried that Welker could sit out half the season, much like lineman Logan Mankins did in 2010.

  Welker has been one of the more dependable receivers in the NFL, catching 100 or more passes in four of the past five seasons with the Patriots. Welker caught an NFL high 122 receptions last season.

• Ricky Williams To Retire From NFL

  Baltimore Ravens running back Ricky Williams has called a press conference to announcement his retirement from the NFL.

  Williams retired once before in 2004 as he was facing a four game suspension for drug use. He returned in 2005, but spent the 2006 season with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.

  This time it appears as if its final.

  "The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life," Williams said in a statement released by his alma mater, Texas,"I pray that all successive adventures offer me the same potential for growth, success and most importantly fun. I want to thank all my fans, teammates, coaches and supporters for the strength they've given me to overcome so much."

  Williams is one of 26 players in NFL history with over 10,000 yards rushing with 10,009 yards. He led the NFL in rushing in 2002 with 1,853 yards and was elected to his only Pro Bowl. This season with the Ravens, he was used primarily as a backup to starter Ray Rice rushing for 444 yards and two touchdowns.

  Williams also thanked Ravens coach John Harbaugh in his statement, "I have to thank Coach (John) Harbaugh and the Ravens organization for the opportunity they gave me this year," Williams said in the statement. "I had so much fun and really appreciated the chance to finish on such a great note."

• NFL Week 10 In Review

  The NFL's Week 10 is just about over (Okay it is over, Monday Night's game is going to be a stinker) and there are things to take away for it and things to learn. I will go over each game in short responses. So here we go.

  • Raiders 24, Chargers 17

  Norv Turner's seat just went from hot to 5 alarm fire. The AFC West has become this year's NFC West.

  • Patriots 37, Jets 16

  Never count out Belichick and Brady. Jets continue to underachieve and Sanchez is still overrated.

  • Saints 26, Falcons 23

  PUNT THE BALL!

  • Steelers 24, Bengals 17

  The Steelers' defense finally showed up and in the most opportune time. Could this be the end of the Bengals this season?

  • Rams 13, Browns 12

  It always something for the Browns and note to Coach Shurmur: defenses do win championships, but you do need an offense as well.

  • Cowboys 44, Bills 7

  Midnight just about struck for Fitzpatrick and the Bills. Cowboys surprisingly still alive.

  • Jaguars 17, Colts 3

  Good news Colts fans, you have a bye next week. Just six more games, Colts.

  • Broncos 17, Chiefs 10

  Look like you can win with a quarterback who can't throw. Also, Kansas City seriously, with Denver's offensive strategy you still didn't predict they would run.

  • Dolphins 20, Redskins 9

  Congrats Miami, you won your first game at home in seven tries, now there is no way you get Andrew Luck now.

  • Cardinals 21, Eagles 17

  The Eagles once again prove my theory: The Eagles are HIGHLY OVERRATED. Andy Reid's seat is ingulfed in flames, but then again it is every year.

  • Texans 37, Buccaneers 9

  Houston has the best record in the AFC? Good for them. I still don't trust them.

  • Titans 30, Panthers 3

  Welcome back, Chris Johnson! Wherever have you been?

  • Seahawks 22, Ravens 17

  Will the real Seahawks or Ravens please stand up?

  • Bears 37, Lions 13

  Don't look now, but here come the Bears, even without Cutler playing well.

  • 49ers 27, Giants 20

  The Niners are in fact for real and looks like Eli Manning can't win them all.

  Well that's it for my brief synopsis of the week that was in the NFL. Next week has some big games, Cincinnati will prove if they are for real when they play the Ravens. The Eagles go into MetLife Stadium to try get back on track and beat the NFC East leading Giants and will the Chargers end there horrendous skid when they face he red hot Bears? • Sparano To Sell House

  In perhaps a sign of things to come, Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano has put his house up for sale. The Dolphins are 0-6 and have lost nine straight dating back to last season.

  According to reports out of Miami, Sparano has an asking price of $1.5 Million on his 5,182 square foot home.

  Sparano states that the house is too much for he and his wife now that their daughter has left for college and not for the impending firing.

  The Dolphins face the New York Giants, the surprise leader of the NFC East, this Sunday. Kickoff is at 1 PM.

• The Sports Conspiracy Files: Tim Tebow

  There has been great debate over whether or not Tim Tebow should be starting or why it took so long for him to start. If you ask me, I think the Broncos have some other reasons why Tebow is starting. I'm calling it a conspiracy. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN, dramatic reverb.

  The Denver Broncos next game is at Miami with Tim Tebow starting. Now, Tebow was a three year starter at the University of Florida. This is a perfect time to start him because the fans will be absolutely on his side. It is a perfect PR move for the Broncos with Tebow making his first start of the season in his home start and create a groundswell for the Tebow era to start in Denver.

  On the flip side, Denver is 1-4 only one game above Miami for second worst record in the NFL. The apparent first overall pick in next year's draft is Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. If Denver loses to Miami it gives them a better chance to pick Luck and Luck is the best quarterback prospect since Broncos executive and hero John Elway. Also, both Luck and Elway attended Stanford. Denver would still be behind Indianapolis for worst record, but does anyone see the Colts drafting a quarterback with the first overall pick with Peyton Manning in town? I don't think so.

  Is Tim Tebow the second coming of John Elway or his he another Bubby Brister? (look it up, kids) Only time will tell and Tebow gets his time this Sunday at Miami in front of pretty much a home crowd.

• Mark The Greek's Monday Night Pick Sure To Go Wrong

  This Monday will mark the start of a new weekly segment called "Mark The Greek's Monday Night Pick Sure To Go Wrong". This week's Monday Night Football game is between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins. So away we go

  • Miami Dolphins at New York Jets

  Both teams are currently struggling and need a win. The Jets have lost three straight and the Dolphins have lost seven straight going back to last season.

  One thing going for the Dolphins is that they have won three straight against the Jets in East Rutherford. However, the Dolphins now need to rely on their secon string quarterback Matt Moore due to Chad Henne's season ending shoulder injury. The Dolphins also have the second worst pass defense in the NFL (Patriots ranked worst) and Sanchez could have a field day with the Dolphin secondary. With the Jets' tall receivers they can, and probably will, pick this team apart.

  The Jets' last three losses have come to potential playoff teams (Raiders, Ravens, and Patriots). Mark Sanchez is not having a great season, but a game against the hapless Dolphins could change all of that. The Jets' red flag could be on what should have been a strong point, their rush defense. The Dolphins tandem of Daniel Thomas and Reggie Bush and the use of the Wildcat defense should keep the Jets defense on its toes. On the flip side, the Jets pass defense is one of the best in the NFL and with the Dolphins playing their second string quarterback, its going to be a long night for Matt Moore and Brandon Marshall (presuming he doesn't get ejected in the second quarter).

• Thoughts On The Week The NFL Week That Was

  Lions 5-0, Bills 4-1, Eagles 1-4, as we get deeper and deeper into the year, we are seeing now what teams are contenders and pretenders. Here are my thoughts are the this past week in the NFL.

  • Bills 31, Eagles 24

  The Bills improve to 4-1 and the Eagles fall to 1-4 and no one is happier than me. The Eagles are a VERY overrated team and not worthy of the "dream team" moniker. Meanwhile, nine months from know there will be a spike of babies named Ryan (or to a lesser extent Leodis) in the western New York area. Ryan Fitzpatrick's solid year is a huge part of the Bills hot start. On the flip side, Michael Vick's streaky play is a concern for the Eagles. The Bills, unfortunately, are in the AFC East with the Pats and Jets and you can't keep those teams down for long. The Eagles aren't out yet, but have an uphill climb and belong in the NFC East where no team has come out as a serious contender.

   

  • Chargers 29, Broncos 24

  The Broncos lose again and Kyle Orton's poor play again will create a groundswell for Tim Tebow. Tebow came into the game in the fourth and, although not great numbers, almost orchestrated a comeback win. The question is now, who starts for the Broncos? Kyle Orton hasn't exactly proved to the Broncos faithful that he can be the starter, but Tebow I don't believe is the answer. Tebow is a great runner, but as far as throwing the football (a main part of being a quarterback) is less than average. At Florida, he was known as a running quarterback and almost never played from the shotgun position. Adjustments can be made to his mechanics and maybe it is time for him to start because the Broncos are 1-4 and not getting any better. Also, where is the support for Brady Quinn to start?

   

  • Patriots 30, Jets 21

  The Jets lose again and the world collectively cheered. The Jets drop to 2-3 but could be 1-4 (thanks, Tony Romo). Mark Sanchez is not having a great year and again proves my theory that he is the most overrated quarterback in the NFL. Sanchez ranks 19th in the NFL in passer rating with a paltry 80.4. Let me check ESPN's QBR, oh wait no one cares, but that is for another time. The Jets defense, which is supposed to be a strong point, ranks 27th in the NFL on run defense giving up 134.8 yards per game. You can't win if you continuously give up 134 rushing yards per game. The pass defense is solid, 5th in the NFL, but the run defense is a huge question mark. BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for a career high 136 yards and Darren McFadden ran over the Raiders in their win over the Jets. Good news for Jets fans, next game is against the lowly Dolphins.

   

  • Lions 24, Bears 13

  If you aren't a 2012 end of the world believer here is another reason to believe, the Lions are 5-0. After years of losing, the Lions are pulling it together and playing very well. Matthew Stafford is on pace for a career year and have a pretty solid offense and defense (Both ranking 11th in the NFL). This team is for real and will make the playoffs. However, Matthew Stafford needs to stay healthy in order for them to continue at this pace. Stafford has never played a full NFL season and has injured his shoulder twice in his young career. If the Lions beat the Packers, then they could very well be the best team in the NFC and possibly the NFL.

   

  • 49ers 48, Buccaneers 3

  Another surprising team in the NFL is the 49ers at 4-1. A good sign for the 49ers is that they play in the very weak NFC West where no one but the 49ers has emerged as a contender. The 49ers absolutely dismantled the Bucs in every way possible. Especially on the ground where the Niners outgained the Bucs 213-86. The Niners will make the playoffs mainly because the NFC West is so weak, but I don't think they will go very far.

   

  • Dolphins (Bye Week)

  Just throw the season and draft Andrew Luck.
