Saul Alvarez and Shane Mosley will face off on the undercard of the Mayweather vs. Cotto undercard May 5th.
Shane Mosley, (46-7-1, 39 KOs) the future Hall of Famer, will be facing the rising star in what may be the last fight in his career. He is 0-2-1 in his last three fights since his major upset of Antonio Margarito in 2009.
For Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KOs), Mosley is going to be the best name on his young resume. Alvarez recently beat Kermit Cintron on HBO last November. Fans have been waiting for Cinnamon to fight bigger names, but the Golden Boy vs. Top Rank feud has prevented opponents like Cotto, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and others to be matched up with him.
This is also a good promotional boost for the PPV card. Adding a Mexican star like Alvarez should help boost sales on this traditionally Mexican heavy weekend.
