One of the many great things about being a sports fan and a gambler is that you can win, even when your team loses. If I don’t think the Lakers are going to beat someone, let alone cover the spread, I’ll lay money on the other squad. There’s no shame in my game. If the Lakers end up victorious, I’ll still feel warm and fuzzy inside despite the financial setback because the purple and gold collected a much-needed W. If my prediction proves true, the additional dough in my pocket helps ease the pain of yet another Laker loss. That’s the approach UFC president Dana White (Pictured) took in last week’s boxing match between his hero, Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Manuel Marquez. “I’m the biggest Manny Pacquiao fan ever, I bet on Marquez,” White revealed Saturday night. “Dumbest fight in history. Bob Arum is a moron. You don’t take that fight, you idiot. Why would you do that fight? It’s all about the money, that’s why. “That was a money fight, that’s what that fight was done for.” So, Dana. Why don’t you tell us how you really feel about Pacquiao’s promoter… “[Pacquiao] should have fought [Timothy] Bradley,” White said of Arum’s blunder. “Bradley’s the fight they should have done. He would have knocked Bradley out, he would have got his belt back and now he’s back in the position he should have been in. “[Pacquiao's] one of the best fighters in the world. He goes out and fights Marquez again? Bob Arum is the dumbest promoter in the history of the world.” In the history of the planet? Damn, that’s a long time consisting of an even lengthier list of idiots who have walked the face of the earth. No word on how much White scored off Marquez, who was nearly a 2-to-1 underdog against Pac-Man, nor which Las Vegas casino he used to place his wager.
