Set to soon become a official goodwill ambassador for the Catholic Church, Manny Pacquiao has vowed to give up the vices that have been pastimes for much of his life — gambling, partying and cockfighting.

“I am no longer in the vice business. I’ve sold my shares in a big nightclub along with my shares in a Manila casino outlet,” the 32-year-old fighter told reporters.
“I realise I was a weak person before. If I had died I believe my soul would have ended in hell,” he said.
“I had faith, but I was doing things which were against the will of God.”
The Filipino boxing icon is also giving away his collection of over 1,000 roosters, which are reportedly worth over $700,000 collectively. (Before any animal-rights kooks grab their pitchforks, just some insight: cockfighting is culturally accepted activity in the Philippines.)
You’d think these would be things Pacquiao, a congressman in the Philippines’ nation...
