On Saturday Oct. 12, Orlando Cruz will face of with Orlando Salido in Las Vegas for the currently vacant WBO featherweight championship. However, Cruz is stealing more headlines for the trunks he’ll be wearing in the fight.
Cruz is the sport’s first openly gay fighter, a progressive and admirable title. He’s not trying to shy away from that either. On Saturday, these are the trunks he’ll be wearing in the bout with Salido, per LGBT Puerto Rico:
Good on him for showing pride in his individuality. More than that, Cruz will also be sporting pink gloves for Breast Cancer Awareness.
