(via r/boxing) What can you say about a schedule this meagre? Not much, so I won’t. Take a look at those lovely ladies punching each other in the face up there. More of that, I say. There was meant to be more going on, but Afghani-Canadian junior lightweight whirlwind Arash Usmanee confirmed his status as the worst-luck fighter in boxing when he injured his ankle a week out from a Friday Night Fights showcase on ESPN2. Previously FNF-featured Dominican prospect Yenifel Vicente (25-1-2, 17 KO) is filling in for Usmanee against the game Juan Antonio Rodriguez (25-4, 23 KO). The co-featured bout is a strange one, pitting veteran Zahir Raheem (yes, that Zahir Raheem) against determined Mongolian punching bag Bayan Jargal (17-4-3, 11 KO). At a minimum, the leather will be flying. That’s literally all that’s on, folks.
