Thomas loses first game as FIU head coach

In perhaps what is an omen of things to come, Isiah Thomas lost his debut as Florida International University head coach. The 71-61 defeat came at the hands of the NAIA's own Northwood, a team coached by the legendary Rollie Massimino on Wednesday night. The embattled Thomas was unsuccessful as a NBA head coach, but was given an opportunity in the college ranks by friend and FIU Athletic Director Pete Garcia. Isiah won't get a win in his second game either, the team will face defending champs North Carolina on Monday in it's official opener.
