In perhaps what is an omen of things to come, Isiah Thomas lost his debut as Florida International University head coach.
The 71-61 defeat came at the hands of the NAIA's own Northwood, a team coached by the legendary Rollie Massimino on Wednesday night.
The embattled Thomas was unsuccessful as a NBA head coach, but was given an opportunity in the college ranks by friend and FIU Athletic Director Pete Garcia.
Isiah won't get a win in his second game either, the team will face defending champs North Carolina on Monday in it's official opener.
