Fans were not thrilled with the WBC when they essentially stripped middleweight champion Sergio Martinez to make him "champion emeritus". The WBC then elevated undefeated but unspectacular Sebastian Zbik whom they immediately mandated face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a title bout.
So basically, it looks like they rigged everything to get Chavez Jr the title which of course he then did by beating
