Found January 21, 2008 on Landry Hat:
There is a lot of wonder and concern about what the Dallas Cowboys will do this off season to address the problem areas. We need a couple of corners and possibly a safety. We need a new wide receiver. And I think we're going to need a running back. Do we draft these positions or hit the free agent market? We have unrestricted free agents Flozell Adams, Ken Hamlin and Keith Davis who most Cowboys fans want back. I have problems with Adams and his constant false starts. Dallas has 40 players signed and $20.61 left in the salary cap. That's the middle of the pack in the NFL. The Giants are the only team in the NFC East that has better cap numbers. I think the Cowboys are in good position to sign the players they need and pick up a top-notch free agent in the market. Keep in mind that safety Roy Williams is $10 million against the cap, about 10 percent. Even if we dropped him, we'd take a big hit. But, the "drop Roy Williams" bandwagon is growing in population. Let's take a look at the NFC East, because one team's scenario is flipping hilarious: * The Giants have 49 players signed and $24.47 left. * The Eagles have 49 players signed with $17.17 left. * The Redskins have 45 players signed with -$20.72. Yes, that's NEGATIVE $20.72 million. Good job, Daniel Snyder, the dumbest NFL owner ever. Redskins fans, you have a bright future ahead of you. Heck, you might be able to sign a CFL player for free if you need the help. Maybe bring He Hate Me out of retirement? The reason the Redskins have this cap problem is because of owner Daniel Snyder's stupid off season decisions. The Redskins have a history running 10 years now of taking free agents who never pan out. Now, the team is $20 million in the hole. That's so funny!
