Da Great White Hype:

More like Pick of the Litter Box. The Cleveland Browns should have seen the signs... Tim Couch would actually end up on the couch a few years (althought he did marry her) after throwing a gaggle of interceptions, and "Akili" is Swahili for "one who floats passes and can't understand playbooks." Both Sports Illustrated and the Browns missed on the best QB that year--Donovan McNabb--who became the face of the Eagles' franchise in the new millenium.
There is no clear-cut way to determine who should go where and when. That same year, I thought this guy was going to be the next Joe Montana. Last year, I thought this was a terrible pick because he played against some inferior competition and he happened to have a cousin how excelled in the NFL at the same position.
My biggest problem with the NFL Draft is not blowhards like Mel Kiper or the awful suits players wear to the draft itself...but the damn teams that say that they have plugged all their holes and dissimated their needs with their draft selections. Often, these teams draft these hyped-up players and feel that they can step in and change the team right away. Often, that doesn't happen.
Here are some "overhyped" players that will be drafted too high, and may end up marrying Playboy Playmates of the Year and playing more professional football than I or you will ever play in our whole lives playing in the CFL before you know it:
1. James Laurinitis, LB, OSU.
2. Macho Harris, CB, VT
3. Ricky Jean-Francois, DT. LSU
4. Pat White, ATH, WVU
5. Javon Ringer, RB, MSU

I'm always bad with picking sleepers, but this is one I have a good feeling for (n/h). He stuck out at the Senior Bowl and could go anywhere from 2-5th rounds.
Ramses Barden, WR, Cal Poly
From NFL Draft Dog:
6' 6" 228 lbs
Senior
Strengths: Size, strength, hands, athletic ability, jumping ability
Weakness: Speed, level of competition,
route running
NFL Comparison: Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
