Often in championships, the mercy rule is not used. The assumption is that you want to play those to completion. It looks like this one was "complete" after one inning. Bowden wishes the gridiron Seminoles could score that much!!!
We deliver your college baseball post for 2009 on the heels of one public university in Columbus, Ohio being pummeled by Florida State as the Seminoles advanced to their super regional yesterday. And we could spend the rest of this post quoting the ridiculous stat lines that came out of this game:

That's sooooooooooooooooo embrassing for Ohio State's Baseball Program, isn't there a mercy rule in college baseball so something like this doesn't happen???

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, now that that's out of my system, that sucks. To get that far and just get obliterated has to be heartbreaking.

Two days ago Georgia blew OSU out then OSU beat Georgia which makes no sense. If I understand it correctly the next day OSU had to play Florida State and was blown out a little bit worse than what Georgia did. About two days before the Georgia thumping, OSU was beaten by Indiana something like 12-3. I'm pretty sure college baseball isn't for schools in locations like Columbus.

A beatdown is a beatdown but this was just a plain old A** Whipping...

If you lose your first game in the regionals, you are in trouble. College pitching is decimated by the MLB draft. Not many teams have a David Price like Vandy did. If they do, it's usually only one or two of them at the most. If you lose your first regional game, you have to win 5 (I think) to advance. That's tough in a weekend. Still, that was a butt whipping.

CoachScott, the drafted players don't go to their pro teams until the college season is over.

CoachScott, the players from the draft don't go to their pro teams until after the college season is over. One other thing, how many hit batters were there in this game?

Anytime the Buckeyes get whipped, in any sport, that is music to my ears.
