There may be no person in sports who’s had a whirlwind year (more like 6 months) like 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.  The Florida State freshman phenom took the college football world by storm, leading his Seminoles to their first National Championship in 14 years.  Not to mention some legal issues he is still not fully cleared of.  But not ready for a break, he is now dressed and ready to take the field at Dick Howser Stadium in his second season as an OF and pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles.  He addressed the media today in ball cap, spikes, and glove (via the Twitter of Jonathan Schillace of the Seminole IMG Network) Crazy to see Jameis Winston not in a football uniform. He’s all suited up for the #Noles on the diamond. pic.twitter.com/ZCbb4k7hWk — Jonathan Schillace (@JSchillace) January 24, 2014 Florida State released the full-length interview of the smiling superstar:   Winston is hardly the first two sport (football-baseball) star, as he was preceded at Florida State by Deion Sanders.  For the 2013 season, Winston batted a modest .235 in 119 AB at the plate, while posting an effective 3.00 ERA with 2 Saves in 17 appearances out of the Seminole bullpen. The ‘Noles were ousted in a Super Regional last year by upstart Indiana, missing out on the College World Series. The Seminoles are ranked #6 in 2014 preseason according to Baseball America, which could occupy Winston’s time all the way into June with the College World Series. Then just a short month plus to recover for August football drills.
