300 Davidson College students get free ride to NCAA Tournament in Detroit
Davidson College's Board of Trustees pledged bus transportation, two nights lodging, and a ticket Wednesday to any student that wanted to see the basketball team play in the NCAA Tournament in Detroit. Within a day, 275 students (about 20 percent of the student body) had signed up. "The response was tremendous and frankly, surprisingly large," school spokeswoman Stacey Schmeidel said Thursday. "We actually have a lot more students who want to go, but we're trying to find more buses." It will cost approximately $100,000. Suddenly, I want to enroll at Davidson College.
