While it wasn’t the prettiest win Duke’s had all season, the Blue Devils pulled out a 16-point win over a tough Georgia Tech team. The team and coaching staff are still trying to find an identity while Ryan Kelly is out, and the kinks were showing in the first twenty minutes. Coach K used 18 substitutions to try and find a lineup that worked against a Yellow Jackets team who tries to take teams out of their offensive rhythm. The five players that ended the first half started the second – Rasheed Sulaimon, Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee, Amile Jefferson and Quinn Cook – and they were the most effective. A 19-3 run over the first five minutes of the second half put the game out of reach. Jefferson and Sulaimon, in particular, elevated their play to lift the Blue Devils to victory. Rightfully so, they were interviewed after the game along with Rodney Hood and Mike Krzyzewski. Check out the video below. Jefferson gives Duke needed energy

DURHAM, N.C. -- One man's misfortune is often another man's opportunity. That goes for Duke freshman forward Amile Jefferson, who is suddenly a vital component of what No. 3 Duke is trying to achieve. And he's responding pretty well. Losing senior and third-leading scorer Ryan Kelly last week for perhaps the rest of the regular season has forced the Blue Devils to...

Growing Pains Still Evident for Duke Without Kelly

It was pretty evident from the first half in Duke’s victory over Georgia Tech that the Blue Devils still miss Ryan Kelly very much, but that’s life. Duke is still trying to get a handle on things in the absence of Ryan Kelly. There is nothing that Duke can do at this point with Kelly other than hope he gets better but they can’t just stay in a holding pattern as a team...

#3 Duke 73 Georgia Tech 57 Highlights

Duke took care of business in Cameron last night against Georgia Tech after a tough start. What the Duke coaching staff has done managing Seth Curry’s injury and inability to practice this year is pretty remarkable. Seth’s ability to play through obvious pain is even more impressive, as he was once again the Blue Devils’ leading scorer last night with 24 points on 6-7 three...

Duke Uses Second Half Surge to Get Past Yellow Jackets

Duke used a 12-0 run at the start of the second half to hold off Georgia Tech 73 to -57 to help the Blue Devils avoid a second straight loss. With the win the No. 3 Blue Devils improved their record to 16-1 (3-1 ACC). It was Duke’s second game since losing Ryan Kelly for an indefinite amount of time and for a good time against the Yellow Jackets it looked as if they some how...

#3 Duke vs. Georgia Tech: By The Numbers

By Chad Lykins – Coming off of their first loss of the season at the hands of the North Carolina State Wolfpack this past Saturday, the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils return to the court on Thursday night as they will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Duke (15-1, 2-1) will look to get back to their winning ways, still without senior forward Ryan Kelly who is sidelined indefinitely...

ACC Morning Linkfest 1/18

Last night, Duke defeated Georgia Tech 73-57, but the 16 point win wasn't decided until the second half.  At halftime, Georgia Tech led Duke by 1 point.  The Yellow Jackets were controlling the boards and forced Duke into 2 point shots and the Blue Devils struggled.  The Duke defense forced enough turnovers to keep them in the game though.  In the second half, Duke started...
