Lenzelle Smith Jr. had 17 points and hauled in 12 boards on Sunday afternoon as the Ohio State men’s basketball team downed their archrival Michigan 64-49. The Buckeyes also got 13 points from Jared Sullinger and 12 each from William Buford and DeShaun Thomas. The win gave Ohio State sole possession of first place in the conference. The Buckeyes also extended their home win streak to 38, which is the second longest in school history. After a hard fought, defensive first half, Ohio State took a 24-21 lead into the locker room at halftime. The incredible defense on both ends of the floor by the teams’ point guards made it difficult for either team to get into an offensive rhythm. The half featured four ties and the lead changed seven times. Buford, who only had three points at the half, got things rolling for the Bucks midway through the second half by driving to the basket for a layup.
