Coach and players threaten chaos
Indiana basketball coach Kelvin Sampson is on the ropes, and rightfully so with his track record for NCAA violations. Sampson has reportedly suggested that he will not go quietly, and players have allegedly threatened to quit on the season if Sampson is removed. "We don't care what you do. But if Sampson ain't coaching, we ain't playing."
Sources also say that Sampson has been asked to resign but refused. "It now appears Sampson is daring the school to fire him, and that such a move would almost certainly lead to a lawsuit." UPDATE: It's been reported that a buyout has been reached. Sampson is out after only two seasons. As an Oklahoma Sooners fan, I have only one thing to say to Indiana University: Our misfortune is your mistake. Any other school that hires this guy is dancing with the Devil and mortgaging the future of its athletic department, student athletes and reputation. 6 Comments On: "Coach and players threaten chaos"
