College Basketball: #2 Duke losses to Wake Forest

Weak performance by duke and very strong performance by Wake. I wouldn't read too much into it though - not unlike many other years in which Duke lost to inferior opponents because Duke played bad when they played above their level. Teague misses a few runners in the lane down the stretch and duke hits a few open threes and it's a very different game. It's just too bad that Duke won't get to avenge the lost at home - stupid ACC expansion...

BTW game reminded me a bit of loss to maryland a few years back when the whole Duke team fouled out by the end of regulation and in Overtime K was forced to play 2-4 walk ons (and a couple of kids from the crowd). Duke gets all the calls though right?

I agree, this was not a game that showed how good (or bad ) Duke is. Fans and Analysts will hopefully not dwell to much on this game. If anything it should give the Blue Devils more motivation.

It was kind of nice to see refs call the game close...I am sure the Duke folks think they got picked on, but when you blow the whistle it becomes the big equalizer. I think the college refs have let the game get far too physical. Anyway, this game brought Duke back to reality, which probably will result in them winning the NCAA tournament. They certainly have the talent.

Not sure if I am going to give the Dukies the title just yet, but i do see them going into the NCAA Tournament as a #1 seed. There is still going to be some shake-ups at the top of the polls before selection sunday...starting with Tennessee vs Memphis this Sat. I always question teams from mid-level conferences so this will go a long way in determining how big of a shot the Tigers have at winning it all.

Duke fans complain too much. Boo hoo. Sometimes life isn't fair. It's a lesson best learned young.

So much for Duke coming back strong...losing to Miami last night? Come on.
