Over the past 10 years, only two teams have won multiple championships: Connecticut and Florida. If you go back 12 years, throw Kentucky on that list, too.

PS: One of those Connecticut championships was a win over Duke, and the second was a win over another ACC team (Georgia Tech).

This thread is about the last 10 years, not right now. If you want to talk about right now, they have polls for that already (and Duke doesn't crack the top five, despite its undefeated record, heralded freshmen, easy non-conference schedule and overrated conference).

Uconn is a great team too - but don't even start with me on the "not so hard" non-conference schedule. When Uconn was in their prime (1999 and 2004) there was NOBODY in their schedules that held a candle to the ACC and Duke's schedules. In 1999 for example Duke played, Mich. St., Cinncy (before they joined the Big Easy), Kentucky, UNC (x2), Maryland (who was #2 in the nation for a time x2), not to mention Gtech and the other slew of good ACC teams. I hope I don't have to remind you that 4 of these teams had or would win a championship within the same couple of years.

How did Uconn do in this time and who did they play? I can't find their schedule but I distinctly remember being pissed that it was rather weak - just like in '04 when they got to #1 and didn't play anyone hard for the last half of the season. Don't forget you Big Easters had to go beggin' for talent in Conf USA to make your current schedules look better - since then UConn pretty much sucks

Well for some reason I can't reply to your big rant, so i'll do that here. Didn't play anyone tough in the last half of the season in '04? Big East hater much? FYI, all of the former Conference USA teams that joined the Big East are currently in the bottom half and the only one that has a shot in hell of reaching the NCAA Tournament is Louisville. The Big East is a great conference, easily comparable to the ACC. Notice all of the C-USA teams looked really over-matched in their first Big East season. Back to the point of Connecticut's schedule, they too played UNC, Georgia Tech, and a slew of other good teams. Remember, the Big East was pretty good too. They also had the top 2 players in the nation: Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor. There was just no stopping that team. Duke had their shot in the final 4 and lost. As for UConn sucking since then...I seem to remember them being pretty solid back in 06. They were only top 5 in the nation all season. They spit time with Duke as the only 2 teams to be ranked #1 until the Gators won the title, and they went farther into the tournament than Duke. They also had a pretty tough schedule that year that included Villanova twice. UConn's been fine since then with the exception of a down year last season. They'll be back in the tourney this year and they won't win the title, but they'll make some noise.

furthermore, i watched that entire game and yes, Duke pulled away late in the game because Arizona was fouling them to maximize the clock. Unfortunately, the other Wildcats were not hitting their shots down the stretch.

All you have to do is watch where the Duke player hugs the referee when the game is over. I'm sure that's coincidental.

Hmmm - in the past10 years duke has one national championship, 1 runner up (UCONN), 1 final four, 1 elite 8 and 4 sweet 16's. Find me another team with a better March record than that?

Duke, on the other hand, has been ranked a #1 seed in 8 of the last 10 tourneys and won only 1 title with a winning percentage of 75%

from 97 until now, UK has 1 National Championship (98), 2 Final Fours (97, 98), 5 Elite 8s (97, 98, 99, 01, 03) and I'm not even going to count the 16s. Needless to say, Duke's 10-year success rate was easily matched, if not exceeded.

I like comparing the winning % in March versus the regular season and you can see it's pretty close for UK, while Duke's winning % in March is 10% lower than the regular season.
