Gonzaga guard garners honors; still ugly as sin

Fellow native Washingtonian, Derek Raivio, recently earned several West Coast Conference (WCC) awards after leading the Zags to a 7-1 record in the month of November.

Against the then 25th-ranked Texas Longhorns, the senior dropped 27 points, leading GU to the 87-77 victory.

The kid may be good but he has to take the cake, hands down, as the ugliest little dude in college basketball. Good thing all those Catholic girls up in Spokane are basketball crazy, otherwise I doubt Raivio would get any play at all.

Up next for Mr. Personality and the Zags is a showdown with cross-state rival, the University of Washington. The hated Huskies make the trek for the first time to McCarthey Athletic Center and the Kennel will definitely be rocking. Game time is set for Saturday at 8 p.m. (PST).
