Chalmers
Mario Chalmers forces overtime with a spectacular shot that will surely be remembered in title game history, and in doing so helps Kansas and Bill Self finally win it all. But does that make Kansas a historic team?

Well, they WILL seal their history somewhat by winning the NCAA title. Now, the way they did it might be more historic than most because of the excitement of the game and the way it ended. Are they one of the best teams in tourney history? I don't think so, but they did win it. Darrell Arthur and Brandon Rush have a good shot at being first round draft picks if Arthur decides to come out as a sophomore.

The great question is, will we remember them and who they were 5 to 10 years from now. Quick, name the players on the championship Michigan St. team that won in 2000.

You looked it up, didn't you?

Well, let's see. I'm not a Big Ten fan, but I bet I can name the KS players in another 8 years. Michigan St. didn't win it in this fashion, did they?

Kansas will not be considered a great team years from now. Memphis didn't look particularly sharp most of the game, and Rose didn't show up until the final minutes. Let's face it, Memphis didn't close out the game (1 of 5 from free throw line in final minutes) and Chalmers saved Kansas. Did anyone actually expect Kansas to tie it at the end of regulation? I think the win says more about Chalmers (how he shows up with the game on the line) than it says about Kansas.

Chalmers has been a clutch shooter like that all season. Memphis gave them the chance and they took full advantage of it.

Isn't any team that wins it all historic?
