Live blog: Big guards (Memphis) vs. Small guards (Texas)
The first half of the Texas-Memphis game is over, and so far it seems to be a story of size right now as the Tigers lead 39-28 at the half. Memphis' guards are too big for Texas' Abrams and Augustin to deal with right now, and Joey Dorsey is a beast down low. Derrick Rose and Memphis is getting easy looks and making Texas work for everything they're getting. AJ Abrams and DJ Augustin are really struggling to get good looks at the rim over the much bigger Memphis guards, and are turning the ball over way too much. It also doesn't help that they're shooting 37% (Abrams and Augustin are a combined 2-12); if Texas is going to turn this around, they are going to need an inside presence and for its guards to start penetrating and dishing for some open looks. It seems as if Memphis has this in the bag if they keep playing like this. What're your thoughts?
