Lopez twins both leaving Cardinal for the NBA

After just two seasons and one NCAA Tourney appearance, Brook and Robin Lopez will forgo their final two years of eligibility and enter the NBA draft. The decision is final. Both have made moves to hire an agent, but stated they would at some point go back and earn that useless degree from Stanford. Trent Johnson gave his blessings, but you know he's cursing himself to sleep tonight as he realizes that after finally getting Stanford back to the top of the Pac-10, he's got to start all over again. They'll also be losing seniors Taj Finger, Fred Washington, and Peter Prowitt.

Robin may want to stay a little longer to get out of the shadow of his brother, he's only averaging 10 ppg and has always been 2nd to Brook. Whatever though, those guys are both effing tall

I can't help get the feeling, though, that the mother (family) has a great deal to do with this. But they wouldn't be the first ones lured into the NBA by the promise of a big payday for the family.

That is a huge payday... But cant help to think of the Collins Twins from Stanford... Both really good college players both 7 foot... but where are they now??? Rhetorical question.... I know one is on the bench in New Jersey I believe..

Robin should have stayed and developed his game

What has happened, why do we as a society cointinue to put athletics (money) ahead of bettering oneself with a good education. I continue to be disappointed with Stanford as they go after athletes at the expense of getting students he will ultimately become good citizens. We have too many pro athletes and fans that are in awe of the all mighty dollar, wake up it's not about making money.
