The Michigan Wolverines fired 6 year head coach Tommy Amaker today after failing to lead the Wolverines to the NCAA Tourney even one time in his tenure. The coach inherited a program with a lot of trouble and spent the first several seasons on probation for nothing he did. He came over from Seton Hall where he was about a .500 coach.
The best part about this article however, was the coaching candidates being considered as his replacement. I don't know why or how, but our very own Ben Braun, Cal's mediocre coach, was mentioned as a possible replacement. Braun began his coaching career in Michigan but has done nothing but keep the Cal program above water. If Michigan were to lure him away, they would immediately become my second favorite basketball team!
