Local Product: Dallas Cowboys QB Bartel Showing All He's Learned

Late last season, Richard Bartel faced a difficult decision.

He had spent the year on the Cowboys' practice squad, seeing a little work as the scout team quarterback during practices, but Kansas City offered him a chance to move up to its active roster.

"It was nice to know you're wanted," said Bartel, a Grapevine High School graduate. "You want to compete, and they were offering that, but what made the decision easy was the organization kind of affirming me and telling me I'm doing a good job here, and if I do the things I'd been doing, I may have a shot to stay."

Richard Barel dropped 25 lbs. during the offseason....

This was good. I am glad to hear that we do still have a young prospect. When we let Moore go last season I was really disappointed. Wilson is a very good coach and maybe we won't have to spend an early day two pick on a qb next draft weekend.

Remains to be seen, but it looks good on paper. Hopefully, we don't have to find out how good he is unless it's in mop-up duty.

well, if the organization believes in him, we'll see him on the gameday roster by midseason. I just hope we don't get what we want with him only to watch him hit the road like Moore or Schaub.

Well, we've still got Brad. Oh boy!!!!!!!
