If Mayo goes to SC he will be a star among stars. L.A. is already a huge basketball town. 2 pro teams--the Lakers and Clips reside here not to mention Trojans and Bruins. He would be instantaneously plugged in to the limelight. You just can't say that for West Virginia, Marshall or Kansas St.
Trojans have had success in recent past in the Bibby era. The support for the program is there. So saying that USC cares only about basketball is a complete fallacy. Several sports excell at USC on a regular basis. Last 3 seasons have been subpar in basketball, granted, but the coach Tim Floyd is respected, charismatic and NBA material, and will turn around the program. By 2008-2009, the Trojans will be among the top 3 in the conf. If Mayo comes, that is.
Come out West young man.

youre an idiot. 1st, read what you type because nobody said, "USC cares only about basketball," they said football. its excel, not excell. and finally, i live in chicago, where tim floyd came to coach for a bit...and he IS NOT nba material. he sucked horribly and made the most storied franchise in nba history look like a joke. tim floyd blows and so do you.
i hope usc does well because ive always liked the school, but youre a loser and dont deserve to defend a school as good as them.

ummm...lakers and celtics with more titles, more hall of famers, more wins, more...EVERYTHING...clue in.
as for floyd? he was thrown to the wolves, but not ready for that job in anyway. about that, you're right.

And Chiefmarco, TrojanWarrior didn't say anything about USC only caring about basketball, you need to read more carefully yourself. He was responding to an earlier post that challenged USC's commitment to basketball. And he was right in his post about their commitment to hoops.
