TJ WHOSYAMOMMA AND LARRY JOHNSON hopefully with EAGLES
Above is the link of an ESPN radio convo with TJ talking about how if the Eagles are interested in his services he would love to be an Eagle. This sounds good to me and I am not stirring anything up this is the official radio broadcast. I think he would be a great fit and you can put Curtis in his natural position in the slot. If the eagles do have more needs I would not mind seeing them trade a third or even a second to get Larry Johnson. They could then use the two picks to get an OT and whatever else is there for them. if this is not possible beanie wells will certainly help this offense. I think signing TJ would be huge for this team and go then get OT, TE running back early in the draft. What do you guys think?

Good post i would love to see all that happen. But you may lso try to consider signing jacobs if hes available, he can be that bruiser running back taht we need.
    • Birds4Life
jacobs already said hes gonna stay with the giants, i hate to admit it being a PSU fan, but Ohio state running back chris wells would be a good pick, hes a bruiser, either draft wells or sign johnson, imagine bwest and lj thunder and lightning, tj and djax with curtis in the slot super bowl 44 champs

And the ridiculousness starts! I guess every player that wants a trade will, in some way/shape/form, be rumored to or be a viable option for our beloved Eagles. TJ makes sense and I'd love him in green, but LJ? As much as I'd love to see him in our backfield I can't see it happening or working out if it did come to fruition. I'd give him 2 months before he spits in a girls face at Mad River. How much does this guy really have left in the tank after his injury in 2007? Seems to me his career is coming to a close.

hey thats what everybody said about donovan mcnabb when he had all those injurys and now look at him... better shape than ever. I do agree with you D that the eagles are better off without L.J.
    • raveneagle
He can split time. Bring in Wells for present and future. Westbrook, Johnson, Wells

Yea I'm sure that would work out well...theres only ONE ball. Go back to your fantasy league already.
  • DO u guys think it is smart for the eagles to sign some defensive players during the offseason i know it may just be till minicamp but i think it is a smart move do the signings you need to work on that isnt a big thing an focus on D-fense last yr we focused on defense this yr we i think will focus on offense (o-line obviously) but i think we are in for a big surprise in terms of Weapons on offense FA- and draft what do u guys and girls think?
  • MidniteGreen
Good post, BUT.... TJ, yes. LJ, NO! I really think TJ could help this team significantly. However, I don't like LJ one bit. He has not done a thing in this league the past two years, and is not a high "character" guy. Granted, he was injured (and on a terrible team), but I would much rather have Jacobs instead. Gonzales should be the only Chief the Eagles are interested in.
    • raveneagle
You and everyone else. You will pay alot more for Jacobs than Johnson. I like Wells, Johnson , Westbrook . All have reasons to be on field part time. Jacobs wants majority of carries could pose a problem.
  • Agree with MidniteGreen TJ and Gonzalez would be huge pickups especially in the REDZONE! Then draft Wells or the kid from Pitt!

Don't let Shady hear you callin him kid...he'll flip haha. dudes unstable

Just the fact that his name is LJ scares me. I think Eagles fans know what i'm talking about...
  • Wolverine20
I'd rather go after Houshmandzadeh and Gonzalez than LJ. We need a proven TE now, not a rookie that we need to wait to develop. We're already waiting for Celek to develop blocking skills....
  • maddyboodaa
I'd rather see them make a run at Anquan Boldin. He's younger, faster, and could be a long term deal. I can't imagine TJ having more than 2 or 3 years of football left in him. But regardless if we can't get Q, I would take TJ in a heartbeat. LJ is a bit of a stretch, but Gonzalez could be a stronger possibility. I think Celek is still a year away from being a consistent target. Bring in Tony to give him some guidance and some tips on being a quality TE. I agree with will9424 go after Jacobs. If he is willing to come to Philly, I say "Show Him the Money!"

tj is a good pick but no way they take a trouble maker like johnson...there are other options out there that we wont have to trade for that are better than risking it with larry johnson
  • BirdsFan536

id rather have a younger fresher back that can even eventually start in place of westbrook....i like celek alot i think he is gonna be good but maybe gettin a guy like tony gonzalez for a year or 2 wont be bad...and jacobs was all about how good a team we are after we beat the giants in the divisional round and said he was on our bandwagon...id like to see him in our backfield!! but i doubt thatll happen he'll probably get a monster deal from the giants hes really all theyve got at this point
  • TJ certainly sounds like he wants to be in Philly! I would be surprised if they didn't franchise him, but who knows. No way LJ comes to Philly. They are not going to be interested in a guy that has taken such a beating the last few years. Brandon Jacobs would be a much better option. They need to draft somebody, but there is no way you want a rookie in there if westbrook goes down. The blocking scheme is too important to have a rookie blowing blocks and getting Donvan killed. If we don't get a vetran we need to over pay to keep buckhulter from leaving. He is fresh. Averages 5 yards a carry, and knows how to block. I would trade for Gonzalez though because clearly LJ is GONE!!!

... this rumor season is already annoying.
  • htkrocks
LJ is not the answer! Two 29/30 yr old injury prone backs?? Recipe for failure. Outside of Jacobs(who I changed my mind about after I heard he wants Marion Barber type money), the Eagles are going to have to draft their RB(s). Beanie Wells, Shon Greene, or Rashad Jennings are guys the Eagles have to consider. Get one of them PLEASE!!
    • raveneagle
Think about it both need limited carries and with Wells you have 3 guys not forced to carry 25 times a game. Il like it better than Jacobs who will demand the ball. Short term deal and I think it works. What about Ricky Williams?
  • yoitsvic1126

So you think it will. Double negative.
  • Dawks08
WOW, lets bring back Barry Sanders why don't we??? I figure Shady OT Shaun Nelson Jennings Quinn Johnson OT depth, that is a good draft a trade would be great, and Boldin is the first name to come to mind...remember he only played 12 games this season had 1141 yds and 11 TDs, thats pretty good
  • Dawks08
Don't see Gross happening not worth it...too much money, Leonard Pope would be an ineresting player to watch very underrated under the radar type of player with good size, and is a 3rd OT
    • ItsWhatever
i was thinking about him 2. His size alone intrigues me.
  • Zukny1
LJ is no longer a threat, and the Eagles should have no desire in aquiring him. IF the Eagles Can get TJ Housh, and Tony Gonzo. There would be absolutely no reason why we cant win a superbowl!

Well i guess the Offensive line would still need to get better, to get those guys the ball.

  • Even though I would love to have TJ who knows how he'll play. When he was with the Bengals he had some many receptions because teams were keying in more on Ocho Cinco than him. How will he play with him facing the double teams? Also I really don't see the Eagles getting either Jacobs or Johnson. Why would Jacobs come to the Eagles when he can get the star money he deserves with a team that really needs a number 1 back. And isn't part of the reason LJ wants out of KC is because his touches were getting limited? If he came to Philly, I really only see him getting about 5-10 more touches than Buck did, maybe even less if Westbrook returns healthy and gets back to the way he was playing in previous years. Don't get me wrong, I would also like to see these players in midnight green. But lets think, are the people who we want to bring in ready to take the lead or are the others ready to take the back seat?

GIVE ME ASOMUGHA AND BOLDIN PPPPPPLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE
BOLDING BIG PHYSICAL WR FOR US GREAT RED ZONE THREAT OPENS UP OTHER OPTIONS TO CURTIS CELEK JACKSON......ASOMUGHA BEST SHUT DOWN CORNER IN THE NFL ALONGSIDE ASANTE SAMUEL WOULD JUST BE THE GREATEST CB TANDEM IN THE NFL...AND HES NOT A TYPICAL 5'10 CORNER EITHER SO WE HAVE HELP WITH TO AND PLAXICO...WE WERE INTERESTED IN HIM BEFORE HE GOT THE FRANCHISE TAG...SO LETS HOPE THEY DONT GIVE HIM ANOTHER ONE !!!
  • eaglsfan28
Hey here's an idea....lets sign and trade for every big name and the washington redskins...TJ is a good option and a good person on and off the field. But lets see what shakes out with Boldin first. Next LJ will never be in Midnight Green, too many off the field issues. One of the big 4 tackles may drop down to 22 in the draft, so hold tight on trading two picks. After 2 years of giving away our 1st rounders, it might be wise to actually use the 2 we have now. Anyone who wants Brandon Jacobs forget it. Ward is actually the better option. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. He's faster and it more of a compliment to Westbrook. He's more of a natural RB. Jacobs is a product of the zone blocking scheme they run in NY. My offseason wish list, TJ or Boldin(its probably more realistic to be TJ than Boldin, although I prefer Boldin), draft OT Oher, use the 2nd 1st rounder on a safety, Pick up a linebacker in the 2nd round. Gocong days are numbered. A RB with thr 3rd. and if they want to make the splash they did in 04, lets go get Haynesworth.

    EDIT TO THE PREVIOUS POST:
Hey here's an idea....lets sign and trade for every big name and BE the washington redskins...
  • trotter830
hey i want tony gonzalez as much as the next guy but i dont think you guys realiza that if celek had not been rotating in with l.j., he would have been much more productive. celek is nasty and i guarantee you that if we get rid of l.j. and somehow fail to sign, tony, celek is gonna show the whole city of philly that he is a bona fide number one tight end. i'll bet everything i got fellas
  • Boldin at odds with Cards over contractComment Email Print ESPN.com news services
Even if Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner comes back, it might not be enough for Anquan Boldin.

A key member of the aerial attack that pushed the Cardinals to the Super Bowl, Boldin still has two years left on his contract. But he's been at odds with the team over his deal for quite some time.

Boldin told ESPN's Rachel Nichols on Thursday the chances of him staying with Arizona are "very slim."

Boldin had 89 catches for 1,038 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.

there is ur proof come to philly we will get u to the SB this time winning it

does anybody else think that signing high price free agents on the down slide of there careers let alone another short receiver and a guy who wants alot of snaps to share with bwest in a 70 30 offense doesnt make any sense well i do you go hard for boldin and gross draft a running back we need a succesor not another older back and trade for gonzo
  • ItsWhatever
Whether it's Quan or Housh, it's not much of a difference. As long as Desean is our #2, he isn't double teamed. That also frees up Kevin Curtis in the slot. Also diverts attention from B-West.
  • Yea?,
How is TJ Housh or Quan take care of Mc.Choke aka Mc.Nabb inability to come throuh in the clutch with the game on the line?
Didn't he have TO in the superbowl and stil managed three interception to his three TDs and threw up in the last two minutes? The guy can't perform under pressure and that is his make up.You can sign Jesus and if Eagles are not aheaed on the core board by at least two scores and if Eagles need Mc.Choke to bring them back and either tie or win the game the answer is HE CAN'T.Just look at his record in NFC Championship and Superbowl. He ONLY CAME BACK ONE TIME IN THE PLAYOFFS : 4th and 26 yds to go pass to Freddie Mitchell against Green Bay and that was IT.let's face the reality. He's good though not good enough. Please bring an argument if you wanna debate my comment and please explain what is that he've done to convince me that he can smoothly move down the field and score in the red zone.Remember one thing that the bigger the pressure gets the more erratic his throws get.The closer the end the fasterr he folds. He's like Frosty the snowman in the middle of July.
    • ItsWhatever
3 consecutive TD drives in the 3rd and 4th quarter of this years NFC championship game! The picks he threw in the SB were deflections from his own receivers, (easily catchable). Guess who those receivers were? LJ smith, Pinkston, Fred-ex, etc. T.O was on a bum ankle anyway.
    • McNabb is a good quarterback with good weapons. As Housh said in talk on ESPN radio, McNabb guided the Eagles to 4 consecutive NFC Championships with Freddie Mitchell and Todd Pinkston. This year, he had Kevin Curtis and DeSean Jackson, who I think is going to be star. But they need somebody now, somebody that can bring the championship to the yearning city of Philadelphia.
  • raveneagle
Ricky Williams a free agent. He has little wear and tear. Cheap and productive. Wells, Westbrook, Williams. WWW. WOW WOW WOW
    • ItsWhatever
Were drafting a RB, and they aren't releasing Booker just quite yet.
      • DTRIK19
        Placard_complete_small
No, but he could very easily become a long shot to make the roster after free agency and the draft have come and gone.
  • Dawks08
Those highlights of Booker that had us going.."whoa" were probably preseason games, ridiculuous...Shady the Piitman were getting our Panther, D
  • I believe that the Eagles could snag Larry Johnson easily in a trade. They need some CBs, we need a RB to back up Brian Westbrook. Lito Sheppard and a later pick (3rd or 4th round) for Larry Johnson would be a very nice deal.
