Tar Heels get another 5 star recruit, big man Tyler Zeller

With All-American Tyler Hansbrough likely leaving for the NBA after this season, the Tar Heels will need a new big man down low. It looks like Tyler Zeller will fill that roll, as he committed to the Heels yesterday after spurning hometown Indiana, Notre Dame, and Purdue. Distance was the main thorn in the deal, but Zeller decided that it wasn't that big of a deal; good choice, because nobody is as good as the Tar Heels.

	i.u. loses another recruit. this time the potential trouble i.u. will be facing played a huge role in his decision. i can't say that i blame him and this truly pains me as a lif-long hoosier fan and alum.

	It must be painful, but you can't expect a kid to turn down NC when they have more tradition than IU and they're currently a much better team.

	Why can't we keep our homegrown recruits in Indiana? It seems that there are so many great players coming out of Indiana going to out of state schools. Just think that Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Eric Gordon and Tyler Hansbrough could all be playing on the same Hoosier team this year.

	Its because you're having Notre Dame like nostalgia. These kids are going to traditional powerhouses who are good now too, IU hasn't had a really competitive team since the early 2000's, whereas the Heels have won 1 title and contended for one every year.

	Not that. He seems like an upolished, not so athletic, project of a 5 star prospect. UNC typically saves their big time recruiting for guys that look NBA ready before they ever go to a homecoming dance. Maybe they are trying to channel the spirit of Eric Montross..
