Zag's Heytvelt and Davis arrested, suspended

Gonzaga's tumultuous season took another hit yesterday, as starting forward and leading scorer Josh Heytvelt and redshirt freshman Theo Davis were arrested for marijuana and mushroom possession. The marijuana possession is only a misdemeanor, but the mushroom possession is a felony. Both players have been suspended indefinitely and likely will face criminal charges. Heytvelt was the leading candidate for the WCC player of the year after averaging 15.5 ppg and 7.7 rpg.

Gonzaga has been such garbage. They have been ranked highly in the tourny the past couple seasons because of their weak conference, but they have showed year in year out they can't compete.

It's too bad because they started off well beating some good teams in the early tournaments. They just don't have the same firepower that they have had in the past.

No, dumbass, they have been ranked highly DESPITE their weak conference. Going to Cheney the night before a game to buy drugs shows you the dedication Heytvelt has to this team, it's a shame that his lack of dedication and the so-so play of the seniors on this team have led them to this point in the season. Regardless, the Zags will be back next season in full force.

I hope the dumbass card was played for THEOhioState, but nevertheless, their weak conference has helped them keep a high ranking. If they play a tough non-conference schedule like they usually do, and do well, then they get ranked highly and stay safe throughout their easy conference schedule. They get ranked in the preseason and early games, then ride it out on cruise control in the WCC until the Tourney.
