I guess that's what I get. After propping up the Zags as a collegiate basketball powerhouse yesterday, my boys in blue turned around and dropped a 77-67 contest yesterday to the Washington State Cougars.
The win snapped the Cougs seven-game losing streak at the hands of the Zags and dropped GU to 8-2 on the year. The Zags will most likely fall out of the Top 25 with the loss but I guess can't be that upset.
As a Cougs fan myself (although usually they're much better in football than in basketball), I have to applaud first-year coach Tony Bennett, son of the great Dick Bennett. WAZZU is off to their best start (8-1) in ten years. Look for them to crack the Top 25 in the coming weeks.
Looks like there's some good basketball being played in Eastern Washington this year. Watch out, UW fans.
