Coach Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals will return to the hardwood this afternoon, coming off a one-week break following their loss to Duke in the Battle 4 Atlantis. The 5-1 Illinois State Redbirds will come to town for a 1 PM tip-off. They lost their first game of the season last Saturday against Northwestern in overtime. Illinois State was picked to finish second this season in the Missouri Valley Conference behind Creighton who is ranked No. 11 in the country. The Redbirds are led by senior forward Jackie Carmichael who is one of the top front-court players in the country. He is currently averaging 17 points and 7 rebounds. Carmichael is projected to be drafted in the second round of the 2013 NBA draft. While Carmichael is considered to be the Redbirds most important player, senior guard Tyler Brown leads the team in scoring at 18 points per game.
