Last night Maryland held off Clemson to win 64-62 and move to 4-5 in conference play. Terrell Stoglin played as well as he has all year scoring 27 points on 9-11 shooting and 4-6 from 3 point range. Maryland moved to 4-5 in conference play while Clemson dropped to 3-6.

Tonight, we get 3 matchups in ACC play highlighted by the greatest rivalry in college basketball. FSU goes to Boston College in a dangerous game for the Seminoles. While FSU had more athleticism, size, and talent than Boston College, the Eagles can't be taken lightly. Virginia hosts Wake Forest, in a game the Cavaliers should win.

At 9 tonight, Duke travels to UNC in the matchup of top 10 teams and ACC rivals. Most analysts aren't giving Duke a chance, but I think my readers have watched enough Duke/UNC matchups to know that this game can't be analyzed like any other. This game is played with passion, with heightened energy, with heart, and with desire. The only thing I can compare the Duke/UNC rivalry to is a sibling rivalry. You are constantly around the other team, you get asked about their successes and failures, you see them constantly, you are measured by them, and you want nothing more than get the better of them. Sounds about right, doesn't it?

Tonight's matchup leans heavily in favor of the Tar Heels, but l can definitely see Duke winning this game. It will take the Blue Devils knocking down their 3 point looks, and they can certainly do that. Duke will have to keep UNC off of the offensive glass and avoid any live ball turnovers that turn into dunks or layups.

For UNC, its about keeping up defensive intensity and attacking the basket early. The Tar Heels can't fall in love with 3 point shots early on, as that will play into Duke's favor. Harrison Barnes is an extremely difficult matchup for Duke. Barnes should be able to get his pull-up jumper whenever he wants it.

Tonight's game should be a good one with a lot of offense and a nice quick tempo. It also should be a bitterly fought contest between two siblings ready to get the better of the other one. You've got to love the Duke/UNC rivalry.
