After losing 76-72 to Murray State on Sunday night, Memphis head coach Josh Pastner advised two of his key players, freshman swingman Adonis Thomas and sophomore guard Chris Crawford to ignore Twitter.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports, “Pastner said part of his conversation with the players dealt with focus and ignoring their Twitter accounts, which both players shut down Monday evening. Pastner said he didn’t mandate that the entire team shut down its Twitter accounts.”
“Some guys can handle Twitter and some can’t,” he said.
The Tigers began the season ranked 9th in the preseason Coaches’ Poll and 11th in the AP preseason Poll. Monday they dropped from the poll, following their third loss of the season.
Memphis plays at No. 4 Louisville Saturday afternoon.
