Alex Oriakhi Transfers to MissouriFrank Haith the head coach of the Missouri Tigers just received a Christmas in April gift. Former UCONN big man Alex Oriakhi will be transferring to his program. The best news for Haith is that Oriakhi can play right away. NCAA rules stipulate that if a player leaves a program under NCAA sanctions they do not have to sit out a year. The reason why Oriakhi is transfering is because UCONN has a post season ban this upcoming season. The Huskies loss will be the Tigers gain. photo credit: usatoday.com Oriakhi will give Haith a strong post presence, something they were lacking this past season. The UCONN transfer is pretty familiar with one of the current stars on Missouri. Oriakhi and Phil Pressey played together in a club league in Boston and they are close friends. For Missouri this is a huge pickup. BeyondU Sports BeyondU Sports - Best College Sports Blog Site
