Ella Ellis scored 26 points and Jordan Springer added a career-high 18, including seven in a key second-half run that propelled Army to a 74-68 win over Holy Cross on Wednesday night. The Black Knights (10-11, 3-3 Patriot League) have won three of their last four and beat the Crusaders for the first time at home since 2002. After six ties, including 33-33 at halftime, Army was down 52-46 with 10:37 left when Springer and Ellis hit two free throws apiece to begin a 14-0 spurt. Ellis added a jumper, then Springer dunked and scored on a layup and a free throw. Julian Simmons' 3-pointer capped the run, which pushed the Black Knights ahead for good. Springer, who was 6 of 6 from the field, also had eight rebounds, while Ellis had four 3-pointers. R. J. Evans scored 18 to lead the Crusaders (8-12, 2-4), who have lost four straight.
